These darker spots are caused by the hail hitting the shingles and removing granules in a circular shape. But, this isn't the only sign of damage, there’s also missing shingles, dents, or water leaking inside your house. If you have any of these signs of damage, you need to get it looked at before it gets worse.

Granules clumping in your gutters or downspouts
Leaks in the roof or ceiling
Dents on vents, gutters and flashing
